When our founders — two former network planners — struggled to find a single vendor that could supply cabinets, racks, and fiber distribution systems without six-week lead times and 500-unit minimums, they decided to build one themselves.
Starting from a 5,000 sq ft warehouse in Charlotte in 2009, SBA Communications grew to its first international order (a 200-cabinet deployment for a West African carrier) by 2013. By 2018 we had opened our second manufacturing facility in Dallas, Texas, adding sheet metal fabrication and powder coating in-house. Today the team numbers 480 across four facilities totaling 120,000 sq ft, serving carriers, ISPs, and enterprise IT departments in 38 countries. We have completed over 12,000 infrastructure projects, from single-site enterprise closets to multi-city 5G rollouts.
What has not changed: we still pick up the phone in under 4 hours, we still offer customization at MOQ 50, and we still believe that the person who answers your technical question should actually understand thermal management.

We partner with local technical colleges in North Carolina and Texas to sponsor hands-on training programs in telecom infrastructure installation. Each year, 40+ students complete our sponsored certification pathway and enter the industry with real-world skills.
We also donate surplus inventory to rural broadband initiatives — helping extend connectivity to underserved communities where commercial deployments are not yet viable.
